One Response to “How Do I Get My Sony Dcr-hc44 Camcorder To Work With My Computer?”

  1. Poundie says:

You shouldn’t need to install additional drivers to make the connection work.
If you have connected your camcorder to the PC using Firewire you will be able to use Movie Maker (an XP or Vista tool) or similar to capture the footage off your camcorders mini DV tape.
Then you should be able to edit the captured AVI file (be careful to ensure you have enough disk space as the AVI is uncompressed and uses around 13Gb per hour of tape) and save it to DVD or DIVX and so on.
