So I accidentally knocked my digital video camera some 2 feet off a ledge and although it functions fully, my computer fails to pick it up when I connect it via USB. However, like I said, the camera fully functions in every aspect other than that. Also, drop protection software had activated. Does anyone know if there is a way to reset it so that I can use it again without deleting all the video data?

If your camera has a memory stick then you can load you data from camera to you PC with the help of card reader.

If the camera still works fine, then the answer is simple:
the easiest and best method to download photos and video from your camera to your computer is via a little USB card reader (which are quite cheap these days).
Card readers also work for moving photos from the computer onto a card.
Plug the reader into a USB port and insert the memory card.
It will show up as a drive, and you can simply drag and drop the photos across to the folder of your choice. http://www. bestbuy. com/site/olspage. jsp?…
